引航•外国语学院新生桥梁讲座 第12期丨讲座预告

This talk is first intended to chart out the evolution of the English language across the customary pentapartite stages (Pre-English, Old English, Middle English, Early Modern English, and Modern English) through its intense and incessant contact with other languages (e.g., Latin, Old Norse, French, and non-Indo-European languages). Then it gives a diachronic and synchronic glimpse of the global presence of this language. Finally, it probes into how English is infused with indigenous or native languages in multiple contexts to yield “new” varieties within the famous paradigm of Kachruvian Three Concentric Circles (i.e., the Inner Circle, the Outer Circle, and the Expanding Circle). The goal of this talk is to demonstrate how English changes and varies in response to the new communicative milieus, based on sufficient language data collected from various sources such as historical documents, corpus, and audio or video clips.

主讲人简介

郭鸿杰

郭鸿杰，上海财经大学外国语学院教授，博士，主持并完成国家社科基金一般项目、教育部人文社科项目、上海市哲社一般项目5项，参与国家社科基金重大项目1项。目前，正主持英汉财经双语平行语料库检索平台（SUFE-Corpus）、英汉财经翻译引擎(SUFE-Translate)两个横向项目。已出版学术专著3部、主编外语教学或翻译教学类教材近30册、译著7部。在国内外CSSCI，SSCI等重要语言学、翻译学期刊（如《外语教学与研究》《中国翻译》《现代外语》、Corpus Linguistics and Linguistic Theory、International Journal of Applied Linguistics等）发表学术论文近40篇。曾荣获上海市教学成果一等奖，国家级教学成果二等奖，参与多个上海市一流虚拟仿真课程、上海市重点虚拟仿真课程、线上线下混合课程建设等。先后指导多项国家级、上海市大学生创新创业训练项目，曾多次被评为本科生毕业论文“优秀指导教师”，荣获“知行杯”上海市大学生社会实践项目大赛“优秀指导教师”等荣誉称号。研究兴趣包括变异社会语言学、语料库语言学、英汉语言对比与翻译等。
